Arrow rods are made to the tightest tolerances and highest standards but after an over revving incident or hard usage, a rod may need checking to find out if it needs an overhaul.

For a small fee we will measure a set of rods against original spec. If any blueing is apparent a hardness check can be carried out and if neccessary the rods will be magnaflux tested for cracking. At this stage a report is prepared for the customer outlining the condition of the rods and any remedial work needing to be carried out.

Much can be done to recover a damaged rod and it is far more economical to repair than to throw away. Fasteners can be replaced, small ends can be re-bushed and rods can be re-peened to bring surface hardness up to spec. However, we do regard big end wear to be uneconomical for repair as the processes involved are lengthy and complex.
